Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani took part Tuesday and Wednesday in a regular meeting of NATO’s North Atlantic Council at the level of foreign ministers, held via secure video conference.
“We remain committed to the topics that are important for the Alliance and as the newest member we will continue to promote the policies of regional stability as a key driver for the security and prosperity of all Western Balkan countries,” said Osmani addressing the working session.
Osmani noted that the Republic of North Macedonia will continue its commitment to contribute to regional and global security, by directly participating in NATO-led missions.
“We see NATO 2030 reflection process through the vision for greater predictability of the Alliance after 2030, which will continue to implement its key tasks and maintain fundamental principles and policies. Through this project, we see the Alliance as an instrument that will continue to maintain security and enabling further prosperity and development,” Osmani underlined, highlighting the Alliance’s significant role in the current security environment and in addressing security challenges.
The foreign ministers discussed the Alliance’s key issues and the challenges it is facing, including the situation in Afghanistan dealing with security challenges, regional stability, arms control, participation in missions and operations.
