What marked the pride month, since the first Pride Parade in Skopje was announced, is hate speech and xenophobia…
Koco Andonovski, part of the organizing board of the Parade, said that they have, nevertheless, received great support.
“After we announced that we would have the first Skopje Pride, the attempts to overshadow the message for equality and to underestimate the possibility for increasing awareness on homophobia, transphobia and biphobia was evident. But despite all this, we received great support and many people contacted us to tell us that they will come with us on June 29, to walk the march – in memory of all fighters for human rights of the LGBTI community in the past, with the support of all marginalized groups and fighters for human rights in this destabilized present and with the ideal for a society where everyone will be equal – for the future generations”, said Andonovski.
