NEWS OF THE DAY: Sekerinska with a denial to the hate speech
With the purpose of discrediting the institution and Minister of Defence Radmila Sekerinska, the Vecer.mk portal, Kurir, Republika, Infomax, Lider.mk, Skopje 1 and Netpress have placed false news about an alleged connection Angjusev – sale of electricity – Ministry of Defence.
“The EDS company that you are mentioning and spitefully brining in a context that you want, is not in the ownership of former Deputy Prime Minister Koco Angjusev. If you were journalists searching for the truth, you would have seen the same information in the Central Registry.
There were four firms participating in the electronic bidding in which the price significantly was reduced. From the initial offers that ranged from 95 to 116 million denars, due to the competition, the price fell to 77.7 million denars. That means around 18 million denars less than the initial lowest bid. By this, the Ministry of Defence will save both in terms of previous costs for this purpose and also in terms of the achieved prices in other institutions.
I hope you will stop spreading false news, as with that you are harming yourselves, and making the country a dump for fake news.
At the same time, according to Article 13 for mitigation of damage and Article 14 on the right to response, denial and correction of the Law on Civil Liability for Insult and Defamation, I ask that you apologize to me for the lies and defamation, and for you to publish this denial according to the prescribed conditions by the mentioned law’, responded Sekerinska.
Koco Angjusev, from the Deputy Prime Minister position returns to business.
Xhabir Deralla: That’s how that functions. Every news, no matter how true it may be, when repacked and put in a different context – becomes fake news, let alone when it concerns a manipulation and a lie. It doesn’t matter how long that fake news lasts, the important thing is to place it.
STATEMENT OF THE DAY: Derkoski: Monitoring of the financing of the media campaign will be reinforced
POLITICALLY OKAY CORAL
From Mickoski’s wisdom, who, instead of a welcome with fanfares, will be “investigating” who let Gruevski escape, from serious meetings important for the future of the country, by actualization of the crimes of VMRO-DPMNE, up to court processes – a day filled with meetings, press conferences and morning briefing with Thimonier.
Mickoski is yet to be “philosophizing”, but Christian Thimonier warned in the morning that successful elections are a precondition for a date for negotiations. A bit later in the same newscast “Morning Briefing” of Free Press, Bujar Osmani, Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, in regards to the same question stated that in October everyone had assessed that we are ready to start the negotiations.
From Parliament, apart from the meeting between Xhaferi and US Ambassador in North Macedonia Kate Marie Burns, they informed that the Committee on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men today adopted a Plan of activities for promotion of gender sensitivity of the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia 2020 – 2021. A public debate was also held on the Proposal for amending and supplementing the Law on the Use of the Macedonian language. At the public debate, there were discussions about opening new lectorates abroad, employing proof-readers in public institutions, establishing an inspectorate for the use of the Macedonian standard language as a separate institution, an electronic corpus of all scientific research in Macedonian Language… a third meeting within the Jean Monnet process has been announced for the end of the month.
Most notable for today is the visit of the new Commissioner for EU Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Oliver Varhelyi. Varhelyi first met with President Stevo Pendarovski, where the perspectives for EU membership and the early parliamentary elections were topics of the meeting. Varhelyi reminded the political parties of the responsibility for fair, free and democratic elections.
The manner in which the elections will be conducted will determine the seriousness of the country’s intentions for joining the EU.
The President of the Government, Oliver Spasovski, following the tete-a-tete meeting with Varhelyi, held a joint press conference. Varhelyi responding to a journalist question said: “Ask the Hungarian authorities about Gruevski’s return”.
What was more important for him was to highlight the position of the EU on the Western Balkans. “We must work on the basis of the assessment that North Macedonian and Albania are ready to start accession negotiations. There is no change in that position, and we will stick to that original assessment that we have to start the accession negotiations with these two countries”, stated Varhelyi.
Deputy Prime Minister for economic affairs, Mila Carovska, after today’s meeting with the presidents of the four biggest economic chambers, representatives of trade unions and representatives of organizations of employers, stated: “Cooperation between the Government, the chambers, trade unions and organizations of employers is crucial in creating effective and efficient economic policies, programs, projects and measures for a faster and sustainable economic development”.
Of the court processes, the “TNT” case was again topic of the day. The trial was postponed for January 20, after the new composition of the judicial council accepted the request of the defence for postponement of the hearing due to the health condition of the defendant Toni Trajkovski. He appeared today in court after two missed hearings.
And briefly about the crimes: 300 criminal charges against cadre of VMRO-DPMNE have been submitted in the past two and a half years, stated SDSM, of which only 129 have been processed through the competent courts.
“Many of these cases are kept in the judicial labyrinths of the remnants of the captured state in the judiciary. This is another confirmation that purification is needed and comprehensive reforms in the judiciary”, stated SDSM.
NOT LESS IMPORTANT
“The technical cadre of VMRO-DPMNE need to step out of the matrix in which they are stuck in and for the good of the state and the citizens, to cooperate until April 12 with the ministers and additional ministers from SDSM, despite the differences in ideology, way of thinking and political action”, urged today Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Trajan Dimkovski.
CIVIL NEWS
In an attempt to bring the facts closer to the public, deprived of the sound of fake news and propaganda, CIVIL Media published a chronology of the events related to the “Racket” case. All events related to the “Racket” case from the start when the Special Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation for the “Empire” case, in which among the 13 accused is also Orce Kamcev, and up to the last testifying of prosecutor Elizabeta Josifovska on January 3 this year.
FROM OUR ANGLE
“All of us are one average Macedonian handball players”, and how this conclusion was made is best explained by Saso Ordanoski saying: “Handball comes as an exceptionally fitting sport for healing our collective historical complexes and national frustrations”.
“Following the unfortunate event in Sutka, where two small children died in a fire, I realized that humanity has long been gone. From one side tears and sadness for the children that were lost, on the other hand Roma (political party), European, worldwide… and all kind of dances with music, drinking, songs and dances….”, says Dehran Muratov in his column, or in short: “Who’s dying, let him die, I’m not stopping the dance!”.
It’s hard to score a goal from a corner, but our regular columnist Zoran Ivanov continuously succeeds in this. Today he writes about the technical ministers and their political training. “The new, very temporary, technical ministers and deputy ministers in the new technical government, have obviously mastered the technique of the technique well. The recipe, at least according to what they have showed so far is not something difficult to achieve. For starters, it’s enough to be sufficiently untrained”, writes Ivanov.
