POLITICALLY OKAY CORAL
The quarrels between the two biggest political parties continue at an unabated pace. After additional Deputy Minister in MOI, Slavjanka Petrovska, did not sign the decision for appointing Riste Stavrevski as Head of the Sector of Internal Affairs – Skopje, Technical Minister of Interior Nake Chulev today submitted a request for an opinion to the State Election Commission.
The SEC will be deciding on Chulev’s request tomorrow. SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE have also not found mutual understanding for the Law on Cancellation of Lustration. The opposition party of VMRO-DPMNE stated that it would not support the draft law, while SDSM criticized such position, stressing that the opposition party is “abusing the lustration for political, party, and even personal goals”. Minister of Justice Renata Deskoska, on the other hand, requested for VMRO-DPMNE to stop seeking additional grounds for obstruction, while the President of the Commission, Aleksandar Kiracovski at a press conference in parliament stated that this afternoon MPs from DUI and DPT have also joined the “obstructions to the law”.
President of Parliament Talat Xhaferi, on the hand, said that he has no problem with the cancelation of lustration. Xhaferi at a press conference also announced the amendments and supplements to the Law on Parliament, which the MPs submitted to the Parliament today. This legal solution is the first step to full independence of Parliament, both in regards to the parliamentary service and the budget, as well as to the internal security. The amendments and supplements refer to the parliamentary administration.
NOT LESS IMPORTANT
Central Registry of North Macedonia employee Emil Jakimovski was dismissed from work today. The Director of the Central Registry, Marija Boskovska Jankovska, brought a Decision for termination of the employment for Emil Jakimovski due to, as this institution announced late last night, substantial violations to the provisions of the collective Agreement of the Central Registry.
The publication of Jakimovski’s threats to journalists and activists was followed by reactions with demands for accountability. The journalists reported the threats to the MOI.

FROM OUR ANGLE
“Honeyed electoral country” is the title of today’s column by Ordanoski, in which he compares daily political events in the country with the struggles in Hollywood blockbusters, concluding that, nevertheless, there are very few films in which the villains have won.
Zoran Ivanov in his column “Party politics away from sports”, reflects on the European Handball Championship and the behaviour of individuals from the country’s handball representation.
Xhabir Deralla “fired a burst” towards the judiciary. “Gruevski shattered buildings, beat, imprisoned and killed as he wished, whereas the cases against his regime are crumbling with cheap tricks”, writes Deralla in today’s column “Between the Russian salad, the flask and the court hammer”.
