EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, his office has said, after his meeting with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev stressed that the EU will continue to support North Macedonia and encouraged its government to continue implementing reforms.
PM Zoran Zaev, Deputy PM for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov and FM Bujar Osmani are holding on Thursday a series of online meetings with top EU officials.
EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, his office noted, congratulated Zaev on re-election as North Macedonia’s Prime Minister and encouraged the new government to continue implementing EU reforms.
Moreover, Borrell, his office said, reiterated that EU remains committed to helping North Macedonia manage the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, stressing the importance of the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans for long-term economic recovery of the region.
He also expressed satisfaction over the fact that North Macedonia is increasingly aligning foreign policy positions with those of the European Union.
