Today, President Stevo Pendarovski received Ambassador Derek Mitchell, President of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Regional Director for Europe Robert Benjamin and NDI Regional Director for Asia Manprit Anand, as well as representatives of the institute from Northern Macedonia.
According to the President’s Office, at the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the overall activities of NDI in the Republic of Northern Macedonia in support of democratic processes in the country, promotion of youth leadership, support of the NGO sector, the election process and support for marginalized groups.
– President Pendarovski thanked for the cooperation and support of NDI for the Presidential Center for Political Education and the implementation of the first School of Policy, as a central activity of the center, which brings together participants from different backgrounds and professional backgrounds and is aimed at promoting democratic values. . President Pendarovski expressed expectation for continued successful cooperation, the statement said.
At the meeting, opinions and information were exchanged on the current situation in the country and the region, the situation with EU integration, as well as the country’s cooperation with the United States, the statement said.
