Zaev: We have the majority support of the citizens of EU, there is no country that has problems with North Macedonia
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev is pleased with the support expressed for achieving the European integration and Euro-Atlantic processes at the meetings held with several European and world leaders, during his stay in New York, on the occasion of his participation in the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN).
Prime Minister Zaev stressed that it is especially important that our country has a majority support of the citizens and of the member states of the European Union, and that there is no member state of the EU that has a certain problem with the Republic of North Macedonia.
As to the question whether there is a plan B for him, except for NATO membership and the start of the country’s negotiations with the European Union, Zaev categorically said that there is no need for a plan B.
Kukan: You will get a date, but do not celebrate, hard work awaits you
MEP Eduard Kukan is convinced that in just three weeks the Council of the EU will adopt the decision for granting a date for negotiations. But he advised us not to celebrate when we receive the date for negotiations, because the work is not finished, and that with this decision starts a difficult and demanding process. “Tusk is a serious politician, if he has said that your country has done everything to get a date, he will stick to that. Not everything has been carried out and completed, but you have been too long in EU’s waiting room. Three weeks is not a long period. You have important matters like the Law on the PPO and the “Racket” case. If you solve this on time and well, you will be welcomed by the people in Brussels who are deciding on your future. You should not celebrate, because work is not finished by receiving a date, the process afterwards is difficult and demanding, but the membership will bring many benefits for the citizens of this country. Good lick”, said among other things Kukan in his speech before the third section of the National Convention on the European Union in the Republic of Macedonia, which is being held today in Parliament.
Pendarovski: “Racket” case is a crucial test, no side influence should be tolerated
The “Racket” scandal is a crucial test for the system of the legal state, and it should be resolved entirely, not for the sake of Europe, but primarily for our sake. We must not tolerate any possible side influences, regardless of which side they are coming from.
This is a message that President Stevo Pendarovski sent today at the Third Plenary Session of the National Convention on the European Union in the Republic of North Macedonia, which is being held in Parliament.
As disappointing he the mentioned the situation that since the country’s independence there are very few convictions for cases of high-profile corruption and according sanctions. And we all know that there are many such abuses.
