North Macedonia registered 1,091 new COVID-19 cases after 3,702 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, as well as 23 deaths and 2,322 recoveries, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, 586 were registered in Skopje, followed by Bitola – 58, Kumanovo – 52, Tetovo – 44, Kavadarci – 39, Veles – 39, Prilep – 29, Strumica – 29, Kichevo – 23, Shtip – 22, Negotino – 22, Gostivar – 20, Ohrid – 20, Kochani – 16, Gevgelija – 13, Resen – 13, Struga – 11, Sveti Nikole – 9, Debar – 8, Radovish – 5, Kriva Palanka – 5, Berovo – 5, Pehchevo – 5, Bogdanci – 4, Demir Hisar – 3, Demir Kapija – 3, Delchevo – 2, Valandovo – 2, Makedonski Brod – 2, Vinica – 1, and Kratovo – 1.
In addition, 156 of the total number of new cases (1,091) are reinfections.
Twenty-three deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including 13 in Skopje (aged 69, 69, 72, 74, 78, 78, 78, 82, 83, 84, 85, 87 and 90), three in Veles (53, 78 and 82), two in Struga (52 and 62), two in Tetovo (69 and 70), one in Gevgelija (44), one in Kratovo (64), and one in Sveti Nikole (76).
According to the Covid-diagnosed fatality registry, 13 people died in period Feb.1-4. At the moment, 8,784 cases are active nationwide.
Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,855,720 tests, recording 289,797 COVID-19 cases and 272,184 recoveries. The death toll has reached 8,829.
