Former Bulgarian Foreign Minister and member of the opposition GERB in the Bulgarian Parliament Ekaterina Zaharieva criticized him President Rumen Radev due to the convening of the National Security Advisory Council for Northern Macedonia.
As reported by MIA from Sofia, Zaharieva told BNT that the National Security Advisory Council was not convened by the president for two years, which, in her opinion, is against the law. Zaharieva believes that Radev should have convened the Council on at least four topics – such as the crisis with Kovid, inflation, the crisis with the price of energy and the conflicts between Russia, Ukraine and what is happening in Kazakhstan. According to her, these are much more important topics than Northern Macedonia.
Ekaterina Zaharieva was categorical that sees no threat to national security of Bulgaria from the Republic of Northern Macedonia, unless, as he stated, if only President Radev sees a threat.
She said that the conflict in Kazakhstan is talked about all over the world, and only in Bulgaria the president and the government are silent. Zaharieva added that there are NATO bases in Bulgaria and that there is not a single NATO ally who wants tensions near its borders.
