Prime Minister Zoran Zaev held on Tuesday a working breakfast with Ambassadors of Visegrád Group (V4) countries during which he thanked them for the strong support for EU enlargement with the Western Balkans.
“Prime Minister Zoran Zaev at a meeting with Polish Ambassador Wojciech Tyciński, Hungarian Ambassador László István Dux, Slovak Ambassador Henrik Markus and Czech Ambassador Miroslav Toman thanked the Visegrád Group for its strong support of the European perspective of the Western Balkans and commitment to EU enlargement with countries in the region. During the working breakfast, PM Zaev underlined expectations from the upcoming meeting of Western Balkans Foreign Ministers with their Visegrád Group counterparts, who will reaffirm efforts for enhanced dynamic of the EU enlargement process,” the government said in a press release.
Moreover, talks focused on exchange of experiences for managing the Western Balkans Fund, inspired by cooperation with the V4, and interlocutors expressed wishes for cooperation to resume.
PM Zaev and V4 Ambassadors also discussed during the meeting expectations from Tuesday’s meeting of EU’s General Affairs Council and express hopes that a mutually acceptable solutions will be reached to unblock North Macedonia’s EU integration, based on the proposal of the Portuguese EU Presidency.
