The judiciary is an independent branch of power and today we are seeing it can conduct investigations without any influence and hold court proceedings governed by evidence and principles of fair trial, for everyone, without exceptions, says Prime Minister Zoran Zaev after Friday’s verdict in the “Target-Fortress” case.
“We removed the obstacles on the road that delivered justice today. Citizens, state, institutions and system – this is us. All of us can be calm, because when there is justice, there is peace,” PM Zaev says in a Facebook post.
Impunity and privileges for criminals, he adds, are now part of history.
