PM Zoran Zaev along with the National Coordinator for Implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Spase Dodevski as well as Hristijan Stojanov, Vera Apostolovska and Kristijan Lazarev, representatives of persons with disabilities shared messages via video on Thursday on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities observed on December 3.
PM Zaev stressed that he is proud of the strong pace and huge steps taken in the previous term in implementing continuity efforts of world’s best practices for support and inclusion of persons with disabilities in all areas of social life, health, education and social protection.
“We have introduced the right to salary compensation for persons with intellectual disabilities. We have increased the part-time allowance to 50% of the average salary. We will always support persons with disabilities these side by side and will always be directly involved in the processes that concerned them, according to the principle of ‘nothing about them without them,’ Zaev said, adding that activities to raise awareness of the needs of persons with disabilities continue.
National Coordinator for Implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Spase Dodevski noted that the measures and obligations arising from the Convention are a roadmap to boost equal society.
