“We are still a country in transition and it is estimated that the citizens have about 1.5 billion euros that are out of financial flows and financial turnover. “We are ready to open the debate on what are the best conditions and what we should do to encourage these huge funds to be transformed into investments for additional economic development,” said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Northern Macedonia Zoran Zaev in the show “Economic Magazine”. on TV AlsatM.
“We now have a stable and secure environment for investment and economic development due to our NATO membership, and before the opening of the EU membership chapters, Brussels put us in focus with the EU Economic and Investment Package for the Western Balkans. But to ask ourselves if we use all the resources? Do we know all our resources? Are they used to the maximum? The government opened a debate with the chambers, and I opened a debate at one of the sessions on important topics that should become visible, such as the topic of how to put 1.5 billion euros into operation for the citizens,” explained Prime Minister Zaev.
Zaev stressed that there is great potential for investment in agricultural land, which is largely still state-owned.
“We have legalized a certain percentage with the measures for consolidation of agricultural land, but there are still many areas. If citizens, companies become owners, if they buy that land with the money that is not in circulation now, they will withdraw more loans for their investment activities. There are other topics. There are the cars with foreign license plates that the registration fees pay in other countries. Why not give them the opportunity to get home license plates and register with us? Then there are the caterering services. Why is the share of catering in the gross domestic product so small, and in European countries that share is much higher? Let’s open that debate. To listen to the society, to put all the resources into circulation because this period is unique. From the EU, the region receives 9 billion euros and that is certainly deserved support, but let’s see what we do at home. “How to encourage and use all resources because we have many opportunities and advantages,” said Prime Minister Zaev in “Economic Magazine” on AlsatM TV.
