Cleaning up of the judicial system, combating corruption, countering fake news and hate speech and protecting the environment are among 10 priorities included in the ‘Action 21’ initiative aimed at introducing European standards home that was presented Monday by PM Zoran Zaev.
At today’s press conference Zaev said that regardless of the fact that the European Union sent a bad signal, the country remains committed to implementing EU-related reforms that will continue with stronger intensity next year.
“We remain committed to the implementation of strategic goals that are set unanimously – fostering good neighbourly relations, joining NATO and EU membership. Internal reforms will be implemented without delay. We will remain committed in building European standards,” Zaev underlined.
Referring to model to cleaning up the judiciary, he said that it is in the final phase and the entire process will be implemented in stages and will also include probes into the origin of assets of the judges.
In regard to the fight against corruption, he pointed out that the commitments of the government have already been confirmed with the requested responsibilities of civil servants, and pledged commitment for greater transparency of the municipalities.
As regards to protection of the environment, Zaev said that government allocated Mden 100 million for replacement of non-ecological heating systems and revitalization of urban green spaces.
