The 2021 census will cost EUR 8,5 million, meaning that the operation will cost less than the 2011 failed census by EUR 5 million. Electronic devices will be used more than paper, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said Monday.
He said he believed that next year’s census will be successful and in line with the best EU standards.
“The census bill has been proposed to prevent this statistical operation from being treated as a political issue now and in the future. The census will take place primarily because the country cannot develop further without census data and because the citizens, businessmen and the institutions needs accurate and up-to-date statistical data about our population,” Zaev said speaking at a news conference presenting the initiative on the implementation of European standards in the country.
