CIVIL – Center for Freedom held a workshop on citizen journalism for a dozen young people yesterday in Stip.
The participants at the workshop had the opportunity to get to know more about the advantages of citizen journalism, as a different way of conquering the media space that allows for timely and objective informing of the public.
Through interactive lectures by part of CIVIL’s team, citizen journalists learned how to actively influence social changes within their environment. Through the training on the easier use of new age technological tools in taking photos, recording videos and conducting surveys, citizen journalists have the opportunity not only to inform about the situation at the local level, but to also initiate concrete action among competent structures for solving problems the citizens face.
Interested active citizens have at their disposal more resources for training in the area of citizen journalism, such as the Civic Lenses website and the Facebook Page Citizen Journalists of Macedonia.
The workshop is part of the Civic Lenses project and is supported by National Endowment for Democracy.
