Bulgaria’s caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev met with Slovenian Ambassador to Bulgaria Anžej Frangeš in Sofia on Tuesday. During the talks, Yanev has reaffirmed Bulgaria’s principled support for the European perspective of North Macedonia and Albania, stressing the need for more effective dialogue and a real will to resolve the issues between North Macedonia and Bulgaria.
According to MIA’s Sofia correspondent, special emphasis was placed on fulfilling the commitments arising from the bilateral Friendship Treaty.
According to a press release from the Bulgarian Government, it was noted that Bulgaria’s partners in the EU tend to take a side, tolerating North Macedonia and putting the blame on Bulgaria for no valid reason.
Discussing the priorities of Slovenia’s EU Presidency, Yanev and Frangeš stressed that the EU should be a reliable and secure Union, capable of ensuring stability in its neighborhood.
In this context, interlocutors highlighted the key role of transatlantic cooperation and the development prospects of the Western Balkan countries.
