Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi expects that the MPs will discuss the motions of no confidence against Justice Minister Bojan Marichikj and Deputy PM in charge of fight against corruption and crime, Ljupco Nikolovski at the next session by June 8.
Xhaferi told Thursday’s press briefing that the budget rebalance is expected to be forwarded to the Parliament by the end of the month.
“Finances and Budget Committee will review the budget rebalance in the coming ten days during which time the Parliament will not hold any sessions,” Xhaferi said.
Regarding whether there are announcements of a blockade by the opposition, Xhaferi pointed out that he cannot assume this. For now, he said, there is no such announcement, but he does not rule it out as a possibility.
Asked for his view on the choice of the electoral model, he said that one electoral district is an inappropriate model for the characteristics of our society and state. According to him, there is no ideal model, but the model of six electoral districts, is the most optimal.
In regard to the Law on Illegally Constructed Buildings, Xhaferi said that he is obliged to forward it to the parliament for consideration within 30 days.
“The law was passed on May 11 and should be discussed at the session on June 11 at the latest. It will be on the agenda on June 8,” Xhaferi said.
He announced that the next parliament’s session is expected to be held in the regular hall, but for that, as he said, the Ministry of Health and the Commission for Infectious Diseases should give a recommendation.
