The fifth March for Women’s Rights will take place Monday in Skopje to mark the International Women’s Day.
The march, set to start at 3 pm in front of the Interior Ministry, is organized by the Platform for Gender Equality together with women’s rights activists under the slogan “A state that doesn’t act is a state that rapes.”
“At the protest march together we will send a message that we cannot be free when we are still fighting for our workers’ rights, dignity and respect, and living at the risk of violence and systemic discrimination,” says the Platform.
The march is a show of support to all the victims who suffered online harassment as part of the so called Public Room chat group case and the victims of gender-based violence.
The activists say they will march until their demands are met, which include full investigation into the Public Room case, prosecution of the Telegram’s group admins and members who shared photos and personal data of girls and women, and inclusion of online sexual harassment in the Criminal Code.
