The protest that Mickoski called for is yet another of the long series of manipulations with the membership. He has been trying for years to portray an act of terror as an act of “defending the constitution”. And he does this, on the other hand, because he has no idea of how to cover up his failures. He doesn’t do this out of patriotism, because there is no patriotism in that anyway, but rather because it’s just a means for him to stay in politics.
He is trying to “ride” at someone else’s expense (as always) and calls for a protest, trying to reap the harvest of the longstanding disinformation campaign, through which he spreads fear, insecurity and divisions among people. There is nothing more true about Mickoski than the standpoint: The better for Macedonia, the worse for Mickoski. And vice versa. What does Mickoski care about Macedonia and the Macedonians? He has a more important job – to protect his interests and fulfill the dream to come to power.
NATO membership has brought ease to all, event to the most sceptic, but not to the ones who want money and power at all costs. Even if they be vassals to the Kremlin. Among them is also Mickoski.
Those who think they will use the party transportation so as to be at the protest and by the way get some work done, are bitterly mistaken. It’s their money, and they have been paying the transportation dearly for a long time now. But they are not paying dearly due to the mind-blowing increases in transportation prices, but due to the mind-blowing large appetites, that is, the greediness of the bosses of the White Palace.
Mickoski’s campaign relies on dissatisfaction, fear and uncertainty. The reasons are numerous, and many of them don’t depend on the domestic institutions, or the government, but of worldwide developments. If basic products become more expensive due to the aggression against Ukraine, the government can only try to mitigate the consequences (freeze the prices, for example), but not solve the problem at the global level.
The logic that Mickoski and his team for (black) propaganda are imposing is that literally every problem in Macedonia, and almost in the world, is caused by the government. If to that we add the deep-rooted phobias, hatred and nationalism, the recipe isn’t that bad. You get a bitter meal, the smell of which spreads around and causes strong attention. The more naïve people are, the more successful and “factorized” the “chef” is.
That’s how people are manipulated. Macedonia is a small and poor country. It’s easy to deceive people, especially if someone manages to convince them that there is a threat to their pride and dignity, and certainly to their standard, safety and security. In the “special operation”, facts and reasoning suffer, and their place is taken by the ghosts of black propaganda.
But not all are so naïve as it seems at first glance. A respectable US organization carried out a survey on the intra-party support to the policy of VMRO-DPMNE in the past period in which the party “became famous” with blockades and obstructions of key processes in the country. According to the results of the survey, otherwise available to dpmne senior officials, half of the party members do not approve the boycott policy that Mickoski and his closest collaborators are conducting.
With such an intra-party rating and faced with failure of his policy at all levels and in all areas, Mickoski has embarked on his probably last attempt to keep his chair. He can’t keep the White Palace, but that’s why he at least seeks to keep his chair. We are yet to see whether he will put it on his back or push it on its wheels. For now, he is left with the poorly devised and awfully boring campaign with disinformation and hatred. The trouble of Mickoski and his dpmne is great. The internet remembers everything, but luckily for him, he still has enough money at disposal, so he can build numbers on the social networks and on the streets.
Mickoski thinks that the numbers can solve his problems. However, the Mathematician is wrong. Regardless of the numbers, those who are for a modern, pro-Western and democratic vemero will reap the rewards. Indeed, the question is how much the party, as such, can transform into a modern and normal one. But it’s better that it disintegrates in the attempts to modernize itself, than to continue to disintegrate as an anti-Western, anti-Macedonian and destructive structure with a dark criminal past.
