Following public reactions to the latest bloody conflict in Israel and the pro-Palestinian protests of some people and of political ones, both in our country and on the international scene, I find that some basic terms and positions need to be distinguished. In this world of mass manipulation, many things are rather different than they seem at first glance. I ask the readers to read this text without prejudice and in its entirety.
Every individual and nation, no matter how small and powerless they may seem, can play an important role on the world stage. Criminals often rely precisely on the feeling of the little ones in that they cannot change anything. Therefore, they invest huge resources to manipulate and lead them in a direction that suits them. That is possible, because they abuse democracy and the openness of societies, in order to achieve their dark goals. That must not be allowed.
The war is favoring Putin and is saving Netanyahu’s power
The terrorist attack that Hamas launched against civilian targets in Israel on October 7, the Sabbath, on the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, is considerable support for Putin’s criminal clique and his genocidal war against Ukraine. For the criminal in the Kremlin, whose fingerprints can clearly be seen also in this war, this is an exceptional moment to defocus the public. Hamas has given Putin indirect, but extremely significant military support, that is, an opportunity for the military and political support to Ukraine to be reduced. At the same time, Hamas has also given Putin arguments in the fierce propaganda and hybrid war that he is waging against the West. Hamas has also helped far-right politician Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu maintain power, as opposed to the strong protests he has been facing lately, due to the unpopular changes in the judicial system of the country. Now, Israeli politicians and the entire society are united against Hamas.
Definition for Hamas
There are no, and there should be no dilemmas about and around the definition of Hamas. It is a terrorist organization according to all definitions that can be found anywhere in literature. In fact, the organization itself doesn’t deny that the means and methods it uses are typical of terrorist organizations in the past and now.
Although this organization claims to be fighting for freedom and justice for the Palestinians, basically, it is a terrorist organization, for which the world has arguments to claim that its ultimate goal is destruction of the Israeli nation. That makes them terrorists with ideas and goals that are genocidal.
Therefore, it’s important to understand! Pro-Palestinian sentiments should not be put in the service of Hamas, and that is exactly what is happening at the moment. The protests for support of the Palestinians and the polarization that is being created in societies provide Hamas terrorists and criminal regimes in the Kremlin and Teheran a powerful weapon.
And certainly, they do not spare the lives of civilians in this brutal war, which only in the first six days alone took thousands of lives and destroyed a huge number of homes and families.
Launching a war already lost and sacrificing one’s own people
It is monstrous, regardless of the “high goals” in which the Hamas leaders claim to believe in, to start a war for which they are totally aware that they will lose and at a bloody cost of the lives of the civilians on whose behalf they declare to be fighting.
Hamas is putting the lives of the Palestinians literally on a plate, using them as a stake in the bloody game – a stake they do not own and for which no one has authorized them, and no one can authorize them for such a thing.
The scenes of the brutal destruction of human lives – on both sides, are horrific and touching. However, at least for a moment, we must keep to the cold heights of Reason and try to give it an advantage in saving what can still be saved.
Contrary to Islam
What Hamas is doing is not in accordance to Islam, nor is it in accordance to any values and principles of the fight for freedom and justice.
The Muslim world, including the Palestinians, have a human obligation to condemn and reject Hamas and all other terrorists who live off the backs of Palestinians or any other nation in the world. Terrorism cannot and must not be justified by anything.
No one disputes that the human rights of the Palestinians are threatened and that injustices have been carried out against the citizens of Gaza or in other placed where Palestinians live. But terrorism is not an answer, but rather a direct and brutal attack against human life and human rights. You cannot fight for human rights by threatening other human rights, at least that is clear.
The world has witnessed an inhumane and brutal attack against the civilians of Israel, but this was isat the same time an attack against peace and an attack against the interests and aspirations of the Palestinians themselves.
It is urgent: Peace, protection of civilians, humanitarian aid
Three things are extremely important at this moment, difficult for the Israelis and for the Palestinians, but also for the whole world. Fruitless questions and discussions about the history of this conflict must be avoided, and instead act quickly to save human lives.
First and most importantly, is for this conflict to stop. Hamas must be defeated and must face the responsibility and the consequences of this brutal terrorist attack with which they started the war. It needs to immediately release the hostages and surrender to the institutions of justice. Until that happens, the war will continue and will bring immense suffering to the civilian population all around Israel and the Middle East.
Second, the Israeli state must take into account the civilian population and find solutions with which the military operations will not cause destruction and loss of civilians. Hamas is cowardly hiding behind civilians also in the labyrinth of underground tunnels under civilian buildings, but efforts must be made whenever and wherever possible to spare human life.
Humanitarian aid for the distressed civilians in this conflict needs to be provided immediately and without selection, for all civilians in this tragic war. The Palestinians must realize that Hamas not only does not bring them anything good, but that it acts against their lives and freedom.
What should reasonable people not allow?
Let’s conclude. Hamas carried out a brutal terrorist act and started a war, sacrificing its own people. At the same time, Putin acquired military and propaganda support from Hamas. Hamas extended Netanyahu’s political duration. It is very likely that Russia, Iran and their allies indirectly and directly helped Hamas carry out the terrorist attack.
Reasonable people must not allow their sympathy for wronged people put weapons in the hands of terrorists and war criminals.
Greetings from the doomed island of Reason!
