The challenge of humanity in the XXI century is to create flexible societies, true to the commitment to respect values related to human freedom, dignity, equal opportunities, respect for human rights, philanthropy, anti-corruption, product quality, societies that will contribute to achieving the goals of sustainable development, innovative economies and a healthy environment, with opportunities for prosperity and well-being of all.
To be globally responsible means to appreciate and respect the world around you, the world which we are part of and for the improvement of which we need to actively engage and participate (all citizens, social communities, institutions of the system, business sector), always having in mind solidarity and the common good.
By learning and educating ourselves about different places, cultures, societies, but also about common coexistence and cooperation that lead to general progress, we learn about our civic responsibility and about what it means to be a globally competent and responsible citizen.
Global responsibility means individual, organizational and institutional duties, obligations and responsibility to act or perform in ways that are in accordance with globally accepted standards and norms of behavior. Global standards and norms have significantly developed in recent times, such as the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact, the Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work of the International Labour Organization, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and many other global standards in the areas of corporate social responsibility, sustainable development and corporate governance. Global responsibility of individuals, organizations and institutions include moral, social, economic, political, legal and environmental responsibilities.
