“We all need to join together and demand to return the democratic capacity of the party and demand a resignation of the current leadership, primarily of its current president Nikola Gruevski, because all things do change. The world does not begin with me, nor with the rest of us who are here, nor with the current president”, said today Gjulistana Markovska, a VMRO-DPMNE veteran, who joined the reformers.
Markovska emphasized that without VMRO there would be no Macedonia, because according to her, “these are sacred letters for which many people had died for and are probably turning in their graves, because the ideas for which they had died, at this moment are partially failed”.
The veterans of VMRO-DPMNE at today’s press conference stressed that they are joining the Initiative for reforms of the party, because they consider that it is only with internal reforms of the party with which VMRO-DPMNE will catch the Euro-Atlantic course.
“The party needs to find an Albanian partner and in this way return to power. We consider this to be a patriotic and statesman act”, said veteran Mihail Panovski. He adds that without inner-party reforms there will also be no reforms in the country.
Markovska, on the other hand, stressed that it is good that VMRO-DPMNE is in opposition, because it will have an opportunity to see its mistakes and correct them.
“Everything that has started will go to the end, and changes are a natural thing. It is natural for internal changes to take place in a party when it reaches its zenith. We encounter many dissatisfied people on the reform caravan that is going through Macedonia, but not because VMRO-DPMNE is not in power, but because of its wrong policies”, adds Markovska.
