VMRO-DPMNE, like Levica, are notoriously known for spreading hate speech and disinformation. They are often included in reports and analyses of relative international and domestic organizations, and one of them is also the study on disinformation published by the European Parliament.
In one of his latest attacks against civil society organizations, the spokesperson of the parliamentary political party of VMRO-DPMNE, Naum Stoilkovski, on Facebook slanders and threatens the President of CIVIL, Xhabir Deralla, and among else he writes:
“Simply “The dictator must not fall”!
It seems that Sasho Politiko is on a task of spreading factor 50 on the dictator, so for a short time the role of the lowest relativizing task was taken over by Xhabir Deralla.
Soon, we will see how much is the cost of the NGO, two media, speeches at rallies, relativizing…”
This is written by the spokesperson of VMRO-DPMNE. Is there any need to comment such behaviour of an entire big parliamentary political party in the public communication? Such posts undoubtedly point to that the official policy of VMRO-DPMNE is to attack civil society organizations and media with insults and slander, with which he provokes hate speech and encourages violence! Sometimes it seems that political parties are attacking civil society organizations, activists and journalists fiercer than they are acting against their direct political competitors. That, among else, was also a conclusion at CIVIL’s international conference “Attacks on democracy and human rights” that was held on July 28 this year.
This is not the only case of the spokesperson of the biggest opposition party to slander and insult civic activist Deralla and CIVIL MEDIA.
CIVIL and Deralla in the past three years have sent hundreds, maybe even more questions to VMRO-DPMNE. Not a single answer has come back. Unlike spokesperson Stoilkovski, who, when already dealing with civil society organizations and media, has not once sent a question to the official email address of the organization or the media he constantly slanders and insults!
CIVIL was, is and will remain consistent to its positions on antinationalism, to advocating for human rights and freedoms and to the fight against disinformation and the attacks on democracy, no matter how much certain political structures do not like that. CIVIL will never succumb to the attacks and will always fight for a better society. CIVIL MEDIA will continue to be an “eyesore” to political and other structures that spread nationalism, hate speech and disinformation.
