The Ministry of Finance is planning to return Mden 1 billion (EUR 17 million) to citizens through the second Budget review by implementing the VAT-free weekend measure on October 10-12.
Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi said Monday that the measure would be used in the future depending on the results and its economic impact.
“Citizens can spend up to Mden 30,000 (EUR 500). This limit comes from two reasons – one is better budget planning and the other is to avoid crowding during the extended holiday weekend,” said Minister Besimi.
The VAT return will be valid only for citizens who are registered and use the Public Revenue Office app “MojDDV”.
Over the weekend, citizens will receive a full VAT return for purchase of domestic products and services, as well as IT equipment.
