Over the past three months, UNICEF, the Bureau for Educational Development and Smart App have supported eleven webinars to strengthen the capacity of teachers, educators and other practitioners in education, on topics related to the application of innovative teaching methods with a focus on digital tools and digital learning. Over 23 participants attended the sessions realized through the Eduino learning platform.
The UNICEF Office in the country said that with a focus on the exchange of best practices between teachers and peer advice, the webinars covered topics such as: formative assessment in hybrid teaching, presentation of the “inverted classroom” model, preparation of interactive and asynchronous teaching, creative learning through play and using design approaches as a teaching method.
In the face of a higher risk of children dropping out of school due to school closures during KOVID-19, the webinars also provided teachers with an introduction to a framework for identifying and supporting children at risk of dropping out of school.
– Teachers are the driving force behind the recovery of education from KOVID-19. They must therefore keep abreast of new developments in education, build capacity to adapt and innovate under difficult conditions, and gain access to vocational training resources. Their positive reaction to online courses and group solution meetings shows that we can jointly design a more sustainable education system after the KOVID-19 crisis. said Patricia DiGovanni, UNICEF Representative.
In addition to enhancing professional development opportunities through webinars, online courses and crowdfunding competitions, the current Eduino program, according to the UNICEF Office, includes finalizing a national library with video lectures, making a national collection of materials. as a one-stop shop for digital materials, expanding the Eduino Gameathon competition and increasing the group and program of Eduino Ambassadors.
The webinars were supported by the UNICEF initiative funded by the European Union Regional Program “Mitigation of the Impact of KOVID-19 on the lives of children and parents in the Western Balkans and Turkey” in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Ministry of Education and Science and the Bureau for Development of Education, and were realized by Smart app – laboratory for social innovations.
