In the last 24 hours, Ukrainian forces engaged in 131 combat engagements along the frontlines, with Russian forces launching a missile attack, 82 airstrikes, and 108 rocket salvos targeting Ukrainian positions and populated areas.
Russian airstrikes struck locations including Velyka Pysarivka (Kharkiv region), Serebrianske Forestry, and Bilohorivka (Luhansk region), as well as multiple areas in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. More than 120 settlements across several regions came under Russian artillery fire.
On various axes, Ukrainian forces repelled attacks, including 55 on the Avdiivka axis in Donetsk region. Other significant engagements occurred on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Novopavlivka, Orikhiv, and Kherson axes.
Despite the intensity of attacks, Ukrainian forces continue to inflict losses on enemy manpower and equipment along the battle line. Additionally, the Air Force targeted 13 enemy manpower clusters, while missile units engaged another manpower cluster and a control point.
Canadian military instructors from Operation UNIFIER also demonstrated demining techniques for Ukrainian recruits, as previously reported by Ukrinform.
Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on April 28 that Ukrainian forces withdrew from Berdychi (northwest of Avdiivka) and Semenivka (west of Avdiivka) to positions further west in order to preserve Ukrainian personnel, the Institute for the Study of War reported earlier today (see map).
