“The enemy continues conducting the full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine. In some directions, the enemy does not quit the attempts to carry out assault operations, performs air raids and tries to inflict fire damage on the defined units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but has no success.” – reads the operational update by the General Directorate of Military Cooperation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine issued on Saturday, March 26, at 6 AM ETT.
Ukraine’s source reports on the low morale of the aggressors, also experiencing shortages of personnel to restore their combat capacities. Russians are preparing to resume the offensive, the report indicates.
“The occupiers continue taking measures to restore the combat capability of their units, replenish ammunition, petroleum, oil and lubricants in order to prepare for the resumption of the offensive operations. Due to the lack of skilled personnel, the manning of the enemy’s units that have suffered significant losses during the combat operations, is conducted with low morale personnel and persons addicted to drugs and alcohol.” – it is reported.
The Ukraine military source reports that the grouping of defense forces and assets of the city of Kyiv continues repelling the enemy’s offensive actions, inflicting intensive and damaging fires upon the enemy and maintaining the previously defined defensive boundaries.
BATTLEFIELD REPORT: In Donetsk and Luhansk directions, the Joint Forces grouping repulsed all enemy attacks and inflicted significant losses on the Russian occupants. The Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 8 tanks, 17 armored vehicles and 11 enemy trucks. The losses of the occupiers are about 170 soldiers. The air defense units shot down 3 enemy aircraft and 3 UAVs. The grouping of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the previous day destroyed 12 enemy air targets (3 aircraft, 3 UAVs, helicopter and 5 cruise missiles). The strike aviation of the Air Force under the cover of assault aircraft inflicted devastating missile and bomb strikes on the convoys of hardware and the concentration of the occupying enemy troops.
According to the Ukraine defense sources – “the enemy deployed almost all Rosguard units located in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and in some areas of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions”. The objective of these operations is to suppress the resistance of the local population from Kherson, Henichesk (Kherson region), Berdyansk (Zaporizhzhia region) and some areas of Mariupol` (Donetsk region).
The same source reports that the occupation forces are trying to intensify the operations of sabotage and reconnaissance groups in Kyiv with an objective to destabilize the situation and disrupt the system of public and military administration.
Kyiv mayor declares new curfew Saturday, CNN reports.
“In addition, there is a tendency of a sharp decline in the number of contract servicemen in relation to the conscripts. Thus, the deterioration of the social component due to the imposed international sanctions and the losses during the war in the coming weeks are likely to escalate the problem of the units manning the Russian Federation Armed Forces by skilled personnel” – Ukraine military source reported.
Careless exploitation and prolonged storage are additional reasons for the Russian poor technical performances, it is assessed in the report.
“In addition, the hardware coming from the storage depots and arsenals to the occupying units that are trying to restore their combat capability, remains in poor technical state due to the prior careless exploitation and prolonged storage. The Ukrainian defense forces grouping continues conducting a defense operation in the defined areas, conducts a stabilization operation and performs the territorial defense tasks” – reads the military update.
The Atlantic Council reports that on March 24, the pro-Kremlin Telegram channel Оперативные сводки (“Operative news”) published photos of medals and certificates that it alleged were going to be used to reward Ukrainian troops “for the capture of Crimea.”
The post said the medals and documents were found in Ukrainian conscription offices. Another Telegram channel, Kremlin Z, claimed that these items were discovered in the city of Kherson, currently occupied by Russia. Russian media amplified this message, claiming that the medals were evidence that Ukraine, with the help of NATO, was planning to attack Crimea.
