Turkey starts applying Turkish vaccine against covid-19 “Turkovak”, state-run TRT Haber reported, citing health officials.
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced on Twitter that the vaccine could be given as a boost, regardless of what vaccine was given before. Those who want to be vaccinated with this preparation can make an appointment at the city hospitals in the country where the vaccination will start. Kodza himself received the Turkovak vaccine yesterday as a booster dose, together with members of the specialized scientific council for coronavirus control.
The Turkish Turkovak vaccine received approval for emergency use last week. With the introduction of Turkovak, Turkey became the ninth country in the world to produce its own vaccine against covid-19. So far, 130 doses of coronavirus vaccine have been applied in the country. A total of 656 million people were immunized with at least one dose, 206 million with two doses, and 56,87 million received a third dose of the vaccine while 51,53 percent of the adult population was vaccinated with two doses, according to official statistics.
