The number of newly infected in the first three days of the year is in constant decline

The number of newly infected with covid-19 since the beginning of the year is in constant decline and in the first three days of the year, a total of 923 new cases were registered, while 1.328 people were healed and 15 people died, thus the number of active cases is constantly decreasing and amounts to 4.817 people.

According to data from Institute of Public Health on January 1 this year, 435 new patients and 534 recovered were registered, on January 2, 246 new and 547 recovered and on January 3, 242 new and 247 recovered.

About 20 percent of active cases of covid-19 have been reported in the last three days.

By cities, most or more than half of those infected in the past three days are in Skopje – 532, then follows Bitola with 58, Prilep with 47 and Ohrid with 40 newly infected covid-19.

Over half of the active cases or 52 percent are in the capital Skopje – 2.548, followed by Bitola – 349, Prilep – 321, Ohrid – 247, Kavadarci – 190 and Strumica with 146 active cases or almost 80 percent of all active cases are in these six cities.

So far, a total of 1.611.793 covid-19 tests have been performed in the country. The total number of covid-diagnosed persons since the beginning of the epidemic is 225.972, the number of cured patients is 213.174, and the number of deaths is 7.981. There are 4.817 active cases.
