The highest growth of newly infected with covid-19 in young people from 20 to 29 years

After a few days of declining trend, the growth of covid-19 patients was observed again yesterday. 593 new cases were registered, out of a total of 3391 tests, with again the most newly infected being in Skopje. Last week, the largest increase in new cases was among the population aged 20 to 29.

The Ministry of Health announced that after Skopje, the most newly infected are in Kumanovo and Prilep – 39 each, Bitola – 38, Veles – 27, Kavadarci – 25, Kocani – 22, Kriva Palanka – 21, Tetovo – 20, Stip – 15, Kicevo – 10, Negotino and Probistip – 8 each. 415 recovered patients were registered, and ten people died.

According to reports from hospitals that have reached the IPH, 476 people are currently hospitalized, of whom 248 are on oxygen support and 8 on invasive / non-invasive mechanical ventilation.

So far, a total of 1 covid-390 tests have been performed in the country.

Thus, the total number of covid-diagnosed persons in the country since the beginning of the epidemic is 203 298. The number of cured patients is 189 264, the number of dead is 7159. There are a total of 6875 active cases.

The largest increase in new cases of covid-19 for the period from October 25 to 31 is in the age group of 20-29 years, which is 11,4 percent more than the previous week, according to a statistical report by the Institute of Public Health.

In the mentioned period, 20 materials were tested, with a decrease of 976 percent compared to last week. 2,3 new positive cases were registered from 2804 cities in the country, an increase of 32 percent compared to the previous week. The percentage of positivity ranges from 3,7 to 9,9 percent, averaging 16,0 percent.

Most of the registered cases are from Skopje, and the highest weekly incidence is registered in Kavadarci and Kriva Palanka.

Infected persons in all age groups are registered. The most common age group is over 60, and the lowest number is registered in the age group from 0-9.

In terms of gender distribution, 1519 (54,2%) females and 1285 (45,8%) males were reported.

71 deaths were reported in 20 cities during the past week, most of them from Skopje – 18.

Most of the deceased belong to the age group over 60 years, and deceased persons are registered in the age group from 50 to 59 years – 5, from 40 to 49 years – 5, from 30 to 39 years – 2 and from 10 to 19 years – one person.

2205 people who were hospitalized or treated at home gained the status of healed.

As of October 31, a total of 812 people have been vaccinated with at least one dose of covid-422 vaccine in the country and abroad. Fully vaccinated, with two doses, are a total of 19 people, and with a third dose, 778 people were vaccinated.
