What is a circular economy, how applicable is it in national and local economies, especially when it comes to poor countries, how feasible is it in the context of the Russian aggression against Ukraine and economic, military, political and other conditions – are some of the questions that were discussed by the participants of the event titled “Circular Economy: Potentials and Challenges for the Future Generations”, namely, by party leader of DOM, Maja Moracanin, representative of the expert community, Ivana Lozanovska, Ph.D and the President of CIVIL, Xhabir Deralla. Moderator of the event was Biljana Jordanovska from CIVIL.
The event was part of the Western Balkans Circular Economy Week, which is held from May 23 to May 27, throughout the Western Balkans region.
The Western Balkans Circular Economy Week is the first regional initiative that brings together different actors throughout the Western Balkans. The focus of this initiative is on circular economy and sustainable development and is organized by members of the LogEx Community from all over the region, at the initiative of Balkan Forum from Kosovo.
STATEMENT OF THE DAY
The Parliament is functioning, though with difficulties due to the opposition’s active blocking, says MP and party leader of DOM Maja Moracanin for CIVIL Media. She adds that such blockades are nothing new, but an already seen strategy of the opposition.
“I am against blockades, especially in such a global economic crisis, when we have a war in Ukraine. I find this behavior of the opposition irresponsible, because the citizens demand from us responsibility and dedication in solving their problems. Regardless of whether we are from the majority or the opposition, the citizens have elected us and expect for us to solve their problems”, stressed Moracanin.

Good Morning with Ordanoski
There are many who believe that the world was a better place for living when it was divided into democracy and non-democracy and when the boundaries were known as to which world center “they belonged to”. Why should some 45 million Ukrainians have a different view on their own fate from the three-times more numerous 135 million Russians? Shut up and live!
Well, it’s also not clear why we are insisting with the Bulgarians, when they are three-four times bigger than us?! Are we going to heat ourselves with wood this winter again? And what’s freedom, if our stomachs need to be empty?! Everyone’s insisting to have their own countries. Damn democracy, damn… writes Saso Ordanoski in the column (published on May 23, 2022) “The common price for the Ukrainian freedom”.
