The crisis is longer, deeper and faster than any measure
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The pressure on the Government in this crisis is terrible and almost merciless. It was the same in the previous crises when we noticed a daily repetition of what happened on April 27, 2017, among other things with the constant filibustering by the two right-wing parties in the Parliament. Zaev’s team during the health crisis and Kovachevski’s team resemble the ancient Laocoön who is attacked by the giant snakes of the cheapest demagogy.

LJUBOMIR KOSTOVSKI

The debate that has been going on for a long time about the measures with which the Government should respond to the constant requests for  measures for energy resources, electricity and heating ahead of the “winter that will be remembered” continues indefinitely. First of all, due to the fact that the crisis is faster than any measures. The former Minister of Finance, Dr. Nikola Popovski, pointed to this in his short but clear presentation in front of the Government building.

Last Wednesday, he was called together with other experts of science and economy to speak about the measures prepared by Kovachevski’s team. (This is the meeting that Mickovski refused to attend, probably confronted with his “expert” inhibition, because there, at that meeting, there are no pre-written questions).

And this is what Dr. Popvski said:

– This is not a Macedonian crisis, but a global one, and it familiar where and by what it was dictated (the war in Ukraine, right);

– The measures will always be late, because the crisis is faster with its effects than them;

— The fight against inflation should be conducted doctrinally – a drop in the gross product should be chosen, which, when inflation stables, then it will increase easily…

We present these sentences said by him in free form, however his thoughts were conveyed lapidarily only by one TV station, while other media were busy only with those articles with which the Government is continuously attacked, although it resembles a modern Laocoön who is being suffocated by two snakes – Garter and Caribbean  (in our country – the opposition’s long-term obstruction of the work of the parliament and the media).

There is an enormous pressure on government administrations for various types of assistance and subsidies for certain family expenses or relief for business entities. Our Laocoön had to cover a huge consumption of subjects, physical persons and legal entities for three years already – and during the health crisis that lasted from December 2019.

Basically what  Dr. Popovski’s was thinking is that anyone who wants to fight inflation must choose the lesser evil.

The former minister Gjuner Ismail mentioned in a show on Kanal 5 the number of those companies that received financial aid to cover the increase in salaries for employees during the corona crisis, and they put that money in their pockets. The statistics confirm it! Will they not apply again for subsidies? Probably – they will.

In the past days we see that when buying milk, the price of milk producers increased by one third. The increase in price to the benefit of those who communicate between herders and buyers is twofold. So for 100 percent! And those businesspersons today, without shame, once again appeal for help, although they have received more money than the amount of inflation itself.

There are many factors that push inflation in our country. The problem is that no one sees the role of the snakes Garter and Caribbean.
