XHABIR DERALLA
Mickoski is living in a world of his own, in his castle surrounded by dragons with seven heads and fiery tongues, accompanied by dangerous evil ghosts. He is the brave knight who, accompanied by his obedient shield bearers with flush cheeks, fur caps, white trousers and black stripes, with opanak shoes on their feet, defends his small kingdom from the terrifying attackers. Happy “little men” eagerly jump around to welcome every wise and state decision of his, thought and action, every word of his.
And he doesn’t wake up. No.
THE OMNIPRESENT KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOUR
In Mickoski’s little kingdom, he is the supreme judge and with one sentence can sentence people to tens of years in prison and say that the investigation in which German investigators are participating is not objective. Resignations are important to him. He is disgusted with Zaev. And he will win the elections, like all the elections until now.
Because he is omnipresent, he “knows” that the census will not be successful. He says that “there are many turbulences”. Nothing is any good in that little kingdom where this armoured knight fights for human justice. And he is the solution to all the problems. Together with his shield bearers, of course.
SURGICALLY PRECISE REMOVAL OF THE GOVERNMENT AND THE INSTITUTIONS
For the knight of this short political tale, the “government and the institutions are incompetent” That is why “we need to remove them surgically precise, and that will happen already at these local elections”. That’s what he said.
To remove the government and the institutions? Surgically precise? What could that mean in the world of this brave knight with shining armour? And how is that done in local elections? Probably, he knows, in his world things are certainly very simple and are solved with one swing of the sword.
Or with a magic wand.
PERHAPS IN ANOTHER WORLD, BUT NOT IN THE WORLD OF MICKOSKI
Maybe his tutor, the brave fugitive from Budapest, also left him the crystal ball from his fortune-teller Katerina Najdenova. So, maybe he can see and predict everything, and in a “professor way”, “mathematical way”, and even “surgically precise” tell this to journalists thirsty for his wisdom and knowledge.
Perhaps in another world, politicians try to adhere to certain principles, although they are equally sharp and with no pardon disqualify their political opponents. They are careful not to hinder investigations, do not threaten and respect the presumption of innocence.
In another world, very far away, politicians take into consideration human tragedies and do not try to profit off of them. On the contrary, politicians are immediately at the scene of the tragedies, not days after. They do not put their political parties “at the disposal”. They try to find solutions, to ease the lives of people in times of misfortune. They do this through the institutions.
But this happens in another world., very far away.
In the world of Mickoski’s tales, everything is easier and is solved with the swing of the sword. Or in his words: “is removed surgically precise”. At the local elections!
ALWAYS A HAPPY ENDING
And indeed, why do we need institutions and a government? We will live happily and peacefully in the world in which this brave knight, gifted mathematician, surgically precise, with shining armour, surrounded by loyal shield bearers, will rule like in the tales. And he will defend us from the big evil dragons and other horrifying creatures and ghosts from the tales.
And all of us together will sink into this dark tale, but with an ending that is always happy for Mickoski and his shield bearers.
Good night, wherever you may be, whatever the time may be.
