Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and mayor of Probishtip Dragan Anastasov met with officials of the Slovenian starter battery plant TAB MAK, discussing new investment plans worth €30 million in expanding manufacturing capacity.
PM Zaev underlined that the government by consulting business community and all stakeholders creates a business environment for balanced regional economic development adding that such investments mean creation of new, well-paid jobs, the government said in a press release on Friday.
Company’s management team said that TAB MAK employs 530 people who continued to work even during the pandemic, with governmental financial assistance measures.
During the meeting, they underlined that the new investment will create jobs not only in Probishtip, but also in the entire region, which means an opportunity for a higher standard for living for the people and economic development of the region. TAB MAK plant produces starter batteries that are sold under the TAB brand Vesna with annual capacity of 1-1.5 million pieces.
