The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Ann Linde, who is paying a visit to North Macedonia, will meet with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani in Skopje on Tuesday.
Talks will focus on priorities of the Swedish OSCE Chairpersonship, expectations and tendencies in the coming period, the challenges of the Organization, all of which will shape the priorities of the upcoming North Macedonia 2023 OSCE Chairpersonship, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
Interlocutors will also exchange views on the country’s European perspectives.
Linde will also meet with members of parliament and representatives of civil society.
Linde’s visit will focus on the implementation of the country’s strategic reforms, the rule of law, good governance, activities in the fight against organized crime and corruption, promotion of media freedom and social cohesion. She will discuss the importance of regional stability and security, engagement and partnership with the OSCE, the OSCE Mission to Skopje said in a press release Monday.
North Macedonia will hold the 2023 OSCE Chairpersonship and will join the Troika as of 1 January 2022, which is a format of co-operation between the present, previous and succeeding Chairpersonships, said the press release.
