With tears in their eyes and great sadness, students of primary school “Ismail Qemali” in Cair today organized a commemorative march from the school to the Skenderbeg Square, in a tribute to the classmates who were killed in yesterday’s bus crash in Bulgaria.
The principle of “Ismail Qemali” primary school, Burbuke Imeri, in her speech before those who were present said that “this event that has happened to the school is a great tragedy that cannot be escribed in words”.
– Condolences first of all to the families and to the students and teachers who had good moments with the students who tragically lost their lives. I truly have no other comment, they are saddened very much by the incident. It is a tragedy for a school to lose five students, said Imeri.
Ethics in Religion teacher Metush Memedi added that about a thousand students and teachers took part in the commemorative march.
– We are quite emotional, but I think it is normal. Five children are from our school. Two children from the ninth grade, one child from eighth grade, one from sixth grade and one little girl from second grade. Just a while ago we went to visit the families. They were all crying, it is normal, said teacher Memedi.
A classmate of those who were killed also had an emotional speech. In her speech, she said that the entire situation seams unreal to them, but that life brings both happy and sad moments.
– In memory of these students, young people who tragically lost their lives, I would like to say to my peers that the pain and tears will always be present in our hearts. The only thing that will keep these children thriving are the memories that connect us with them, therefore do not plunge into the sea of sorrow. Try to be strong and let’s unite our strength together, she said.
Before the end of the march, the students laid flowers in front of the stairs of Skenderbeg Square. They wished for this tragic accident to be the last one and for such tragedies not to happen in the future.
