The Census of the population and buildings, in the first three days, with the exception of the temporary technical problems, is running well and so far around 150 thousand citizens have been enumerated. The software application has been updated and the system restarted for the census to continue smoothly.
Director of the State Statistical Office Apostol Simovski yesterday informed that an update and restarting of the process is being made, in order to remove any problems in the future.
– Whenever you work with technology, such cases are possible, they were anticipated ahead of time and that is why there is an entire team both from the provider of the application solution and from the provider of the internet connection, a permanent team that is ready to intervene, the people intervened and the problems are being eliminated, stated Simovski.
He assessed that there is a good response by the population and that things are running without a problem. For persons who are in isolation, the enumerators will receive an address and they will agree with those persons when they can carry out the enumeration, according to the protocols, or they will agree to wait until those persons are no longer in isolation.
Enumerators engaged for the needs of the census have special authorizations issued by the State Statistical Office and branded T-shirts that have the logo Census 2021. They first need to show the authorization and with their ID card identify themselves, and if the person has no such authorization, the State Statistical Office appeals to the citizens not to let them in their homes.
The European Commission has encouraged everyone in North Macedonia to take part in the process of the census of the population and has added that the census is part of the EU accession process, reported MIA correspondent from Brussels.
The opportunity for self-enumeration of persons abroad has been used by 191.890 people until yesterday.
The Census of the population, households and dwellings in the Republic of Macedonia that officially started on September 5, will last until September 30.
