A distressed, lovesick man who threatened to leap from an apartment building and die by suicide near the Mavrovka Mall in Skopje on Tuesday was rescued by special police force members after they talked to him for four hours, according to Skopje’s Fire Department chief Vladimir Simonovski.
The fire brigade was called to place a rescue jump mattress down below the apartment, Simonovski said.
In addition to police officers and paramedics, 11 firefighters were present at the scene.
