Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski said Tuesday it’s better to have short-term restrictions in place than max out the healthcare system.
Commenting on the Infectious Diseases Commission’s recommendation to impose a nationwide curfew, which is to be reviewed at Tuesday’s session of the Government, Spasovski pointed out that restrictions may be strict but they are necessary to protect people’s health and save lives.
“No one is happy with the decisions we have to make, but they are the result of everyone’s behavior. If we don’t follow recommendation, if we refuse to wear protective masks, if we group and gather at events which surely lead to spreading the virus, then it comes to a given point when authorities must act,” Spasovski told reporters after an event on the opening of a First Aid Center in Skopje.
He refused to comment ahead over the Government’s final decision expected today, or how it will be implemented, but urged all citizens to follow recommendations.
