Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, EU & Cooperation Arancha González Laya during the meeting on Wednesday with Deputy PM for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov has expressed Spain’s support for North Macedonia’s accession to the EU.
The meeting was yet another display of the good harmony between the two countries and was used to address bilateral affairs and the adhesion process of North Macedonia to the EU, which is fully backed by Spain, Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EU & Cooperation said in a press release.
Minister Arancha González Laya offered Nikola Dimitrov Spain’s support and experience in moving forward in the process, in such areas as judicial matters and the rule of law, the green agenda and the digital agenda, among others.
The minister also offered her wish to see, as soon as possible, the approval of the EU’s negotiation frameworks, both with the Republic of North Macedonia and with Albania, together with the start of adhesion negotiations, the press release reads.
Nikola Dimitrov is accompanying the Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, on a visit to Spain, during which they will meet with the President of the Government, the Speaker of the Upper House and the President of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations.
