North Macedonia’s capital celebrates on Friday its Liberation Day.
On Nov. 13, 1944, the fighters of the 42nd and 50th division of the National Liberation Army and the 16. Macedonian brigade liberated Skopje from fascist rule.
After days of fierce and steady combat against the German 22nd Infantry Division and the “Angermiler” Brigade, the fighters victoriously marched in the city.
