The Assembly is due to verify the mandates of the new MPs at a plenary session today, after several MPs became mayors in the local elections that ended on Sunday.
The 2021 local elections brought changes in the composition of the parliament after four MPs won the first round of elections. These are Kostadin Kostadinov from SDSM, who is now the mayor of Strumica. He will be replaced by Ljubica Spasova with number 12 from the party list in the last elections.
Timcho Mucunski is the new Mayor of the Municipality of Aerodrom. He will be replaced by Toni Jarevski from VMRO-DPMNE, who was on the eighth place on the list of the party and the coalition in the first constituency.
Darko Kostovski from VMRO-DPMNE became mayor of the Municipality of Butel. He will replace Zoran Kocevski in the parliamentary cups, who was on the eighth place on the list of MPs in the second constituency.
Ivan Jordanov from VMRO-DPMNE is the new mayor of Stip, and in his place in the Parliament comes Dragan Kovacki from the third constituency.
In the second round of the local elections, Kiril Pecakov from VMRO-DPMNE in Ohrid and Biljal Kasami from BESA in Tetovo also became mayors.
A total of 51 items are on the agenda of the 14st session, including the Draft-Decision on sending a member of the Army of the Republic of Northern Macedonia to participate in the international operation of the European Union “ALTHEA” in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the draft laws on the Academy of Judges and public prosecutors, for advocacy, for civil liability for insult and defamation, all in first reading.
The MPs should also discuss the Amended Draft-Law on Amending the Law on Trade, in second reading, the Draft-Law on Amending the Law on Transport of Dangerous Goods in Road and Rail Traffic, in summary procedure, the Draft-Law on Amending and amendment to the Criminal Code, in first reading.
