In regards to the existence of a negative campaign against the census, Simovski says that there has been a negative campaign and that there is one the entire time and that it does not stop, but that it is good that people do not succumb to it.
– We witnessed also yesterday statements of a political party, directed precisely at hindering the implementation of the census. However, the good thing is that citizens are not succumbing to this campaign and the data itself shows that, said Simovski.
The refusals, pointed out Simovski, are insignificant and after a conversation with a state instructor and member of the census commission, those people usually answer the questions of the census.
– We are still not applying any sanctions and we hope that it will not happen to the end of the enumeration, said Simovski.
The State Statistical Office, pointed out Simovski, has been conducting a census for many years and has a team, which has long years of experience in this activity behind itself.
– This, for me personally is the fourth census in which I have been fully taking part. The core team of the SSO is composed of experienced people, who have undergone multiple censuses. All experiences from the previous censuses, and not only ours, have been taken into consideration in the preparation of this census and we do not expect any unpredictable situations, stated Simovski.
The only thing that cannot be anticipated, said Simovski, is when you use technology whether it will work at all time, because no matter how much you test it, you cannot be 100 percent sure from the very beginning how it will go.
– We do not expect further problems, however, we are prepared for such situations. Unpredictable situations can happen, but we are trying to intercept them before they happen, and to remove them immediately should they happen, said Simovski.
In terms of the payment of the enumerators, the Director of the SSO said that they need to record who did how much, after which all of them will be paid to the last denar.
