The vaccines provided for North Macedonia is a move in the spirit of friendship, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said a day after it was announced that Serbia would deliver 8,000 Pfizer vaccines to North Macedonia.
Serbia, he said Tuesday, is satisfied only if the neighbors are satisfied too.
“We talked with North Macedonia as part of the so called mini-Schengen initiative. We should help others as much as we can. PM Zoran Zaev has been asking for and making utmost efforts to provide vaccines for his country. Not only this is a friendly and brotherly move for the people in North Macedonia, it also reveals our responsibility. We don’t live in an enclosed space, we also have to think about our neighbors. I’m sure they would helped us out too,” Vucic told a news conference marking the start of mass vaccination against COVID-19 in Serbia.
He said Serbia would provide vaccines for Republika Srpska, BiH and Albania as well if they asked for help.
