JAVA NEWS: Where was Ilir Meta when they “knocked out” his weak point?
“A day before the Summit of the European Union in Albania, Sali Berisha said that Tirana would be shaken by the protest on December 6. Two days ago, trying to justify the possible disturbance to the security perimeter, he stated: ‘There are protests in EU countries as well, and there are even cases when European leaders are attacked with eggs or paint’. The next hours showed who fought, and who was attacked”, writes Ardit Rada in the column “Where was Ilir Meta when they ‘knocked out’ his weak point?”.
PANORAMA: The EU has landed in Tirana, the Balkans belong to Europe
“Every Summit of the European Union is an important event, sometimes symbolically, sometimes practically, and sometimes in both respects. This is because in politics, symbolism is an essential component and because the entire political activity cannot be understood or valued with lack of symbolism. The EU-Western Balkans Summit that was held in Tirana on December 6th, is one of those summits that is important in both of these respects.
This Summit was held for the first time on the territory of the Western Balkans, and this shows (at least symbolically) the great interest of the European Union in the region. Also, choosing Albania as the place for holding the Summit is an indicator of Brussel’s support for Tirana, and at the same time an assessment of the policy that the Albanian government is carrying out”, writes Academic Anastas Angjeli in the column: “The EU has landed in Tirana, the Balkans belong to Europe”.
INFOCUS: The Kosovo-Serbian problem cannot be solved with legal procedures
“If Kosovo’s problem with Serbia was so simple, then we could have quite easily drafted a constitution with some laws back in 1991, and why not much earlier, through which we would have then expelled Serbia from these countries, without any need for human dramas and the horrors through which we went as peoples”, an excerpt of the column of INFOCUS“The Kosovo Serbian problem cannot be solved with a legal procedure”
