(SELECTION) Albanian media: The Kurti-Vucic meeting for the EU is successful, the European proposal remains unchanged, the opposition accuses Kurti
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Yesterday’s meeting between Kurti and Vucic was assessed by the EU as successful, although nothing was signed, whereas the Government of the Republic of Kosovo announced that the European proposal was unchanged, but that Serbia was not willing to sign, and on the other hand, the opposition accused Kurti of having accepted the formation of an Association of municipalities with a Serb majority. These are the main topics from last night and today in Albanian media and part of the selection of CIVIL Media’s Editorial office for today’s edition of AL-PRESS.

KOHA: Compliance with the plan, the agreement is expected in March

“Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, following the meeting mediated by official Representatives of the European Union Miroslav Lajcak and Josep Borell, said that he is ready to sign the European proposal, but, according to him, the Serbian side has rejected. President of Serbia Vucic said that nothing was achieved, because Kurti rejected the ‘Association’. Still, for the official EU representatives, the meeting was successful. According to Borrell, the two leaders have agreed that there is no longer a need for talks on the proposal of the EU and that they have expressed their readiness to continue with the implementation of the agreement after discussions on the modalities of its provisions. The next meeting is expected to be held on March 18”, reports Kosovo daily Koha.

KLAN KOSOVA: The European proposal remains unchanged, Serbia was not ready to sign, says Kosovo government

The government of Kosovo gave details about yesterday’s meeting between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Brussels.

According to the government, at the trilateral meeting, it was agreed that the text of the EU proposal will remain unchanged, even though Serbia is still not ready to sign it, reports KlanKosova TV.

REPORTERI: Kurti is accused of accepting the Association and of losing mutual recognition

“The marathon meeting in Brussels yesterday ended with the declaration of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, that he is ready to sign the EU proposal for normalization of relations with Serbia, but the Serbian side did not show willingness.

The opposition accused Prime Minister Kurti of having accepted the ‘Association’ in Brussels and failing to achieve mutual recognition.

Leader of PDK Memli Krasniqi said that it is already known that the European proposal does not anticipate mutual recognition, recognition by the five skeptical EU states, nor does Kosovo open the path for accession in the Euro-Atlantic structures”, reports Kosovo daily Reporteri.

GAZETA BLIC: The European proposal anticipates recognition of passports, diplomas, license plates and customs stamps

“The European proposal anticipates recognition of passports, diplomas, license plates and customs stamps.

In Article 1, both sides agree to mutually recognize their respective documents, national symbols, including passports, diplomas, license plates and customs stamps”, reports GazetaBlic.

GAZETASHQIP – Iranian hackers attacked Edi Rama again: The devil’s advocate

“The Iranian hacker group “Homeland Justice“, has again attacked the communication channels of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

In addition to document files, the hacker group also published a message: “Whoever sheds human blood, their blood will be shed by the people! Oh, Devil’s advocates, there is blood on your hands. Watch out!”, is said in the message shared’, reports the Albanian portal Gazeta Shqip.

LAJM: Republic of Ilirida or a new Albanian-Macedonian agreement

If it is decided that 4 percent of the Serbs will have a wide autonomy, which would lead Kosovo towards federalization, and not towards functionality, then this will necessarily open Pandora’s box.

With the fall of multiethnic concepts and principles, opportunities will open for new mini-republics in the Balkans”, an excerpt from the column “Republic of Ilirida or a new Albanian-Macedonian agreement” by author Muhamer Pajaziti, published in the Macedonian media outlet in Albanian Lajm.
