This is just part of the topics from Albanian media in the region that CIVIL Media’s editorial office has selected for today’s edition of AL-PRESS.

TV KLAN: William Walker tells about the massacre in Recak
“When I came back to Washington, nobody asked me about Recak. 24 years later and they still haven’t asked me. Neither the State Department, nor the White House. I was close to retirement. Madeleine Albright then told me: If you are doing a good deed in Kosovo, don’t worry, we will find you a good place for you to finish your career on a pleasant assignment. Instead, I retired two months later”, says among other things former OSCE Ambassador to Kosovo, William Walker, in an interview with TV Klan.
NISTORI- Albanian language/ A large number of institutions do not respect the law on languages
“The State Inspectorate for implementation of the Law on the use of languages has only 6 licensed inspectors, and doesn’t have a single approval for employment in 2023. So far, inspection supervision has been carried out in 120 institutions, but even though oversights have been concluded, there is not a single sanction. As the Inspectorate informs, the institutions request postponement of the deadline, justifying it with the large volume of work and small number of translators”, is written in the analysis of the Nistori portal.
PANORAMA: Albania, where the absurd is a reality
“If (let’s say the fatal word) –Albania dies, then we can, without slander, write these words on its tombstone: It was built by idealists, saved by coincidence, killed by politicians…!”. Konica, who undoubtedly remained in the deadlocks of politics, and even ugly, loyally serving the monarch, who had anathematized himso much, often said this in his time”, an excerpt of the column “Albania, where the absurd is a reality”, by Ben Andoni, published in the Albanian media outlet Panorama.
EPOKA E RE: Tuzi is the most special case in all of our ethnic regions
“Albanian mountaineers throughout history had been a dominant population, if not an absolute majority in those areas. However, today we have a different demographic map. The local mountaineers are a population of victims, created by the increase in the number of foreigners, non-Albanians.
If there is any Albanian political element that is not hurt by this reality, then we are dealing with the phenomenon of betrayal”, an excerpt of the analysis of Gjoke Gojcaj “Tuzi is the most special case in all our ethnic regions”, published in Epoka e Re.
