(SELECTION) Albanian media: Kosovo’s Social Democrats call for protests and demand Kurti’s resignation, for Walker it is a mistake to form the “Association”, Blinken calls for fulfillment of the agreement
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Following the Kurti-Vucic meeting in Ohrid, the Social Democratic Party of Kosovo announces protests on March 25 and demands Kurti’s resignation. William Walker, the great supporter of Kosovo (former head of the OSCE in Kosovo) says that without mutual recognition of the two countries, the signing of the agreement would be critical, while US Secretary of State Antony Blinken calls for fulfillment of the obligations by both sides in order to speed up their EU membership.

Below are the topics from the selection of CIVIL Media’s Editorial Office from Albanian media in the region in the last 24 hours.

 KOSOVO

Reporteri: SDP calls for protests on March 25: The agreement proposed by the EU is harmful for Kosovo

“The President of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Dardan Moliqaj, has stated that the agreement between Kurti and Vucic in Ohrid is harmful for Kosovo.

At a press conference convened on Sunday, Moliqaj said that Kurti has no mandate for this agreement. For this, the SDP demands Kurti’s resignation”, reports Kosovo daily Reporteri.

Gazeta Express – Walker criticizes Kurti: It is a big mistake to form the Association

“Former head of OSCE Kosovo Verification Mission William Walker says that it would be “extremely critical” if Kosovo signs the forming of the Association of municipalities with a Serb majority within the framework of the agreement that doesn’t contain mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia’, reports Kosovo media outlet Gazeta Express.

Koha -Blinken: The fulfillment of the obligation by both sides speeds up EU membership

“US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that by fulfilling the obligations from the agreement reached in Ohrid, Kosovo and Serbia will speed up their path to membership in the European Union.

In a statement on Sunday night he said that the United States will remain actively engaged “in coordination with the EU partners” in supporting Serbia and Kosovo in implementing the agreement”, reports Kosovo daily Koha.

ALBANIA

RTSH: Applications for the national scheme for supporting agriculture are open, Rama-farmers: You have time until April 11

“The applications for farmers, herdsmen, beekeepers and fishermen who want to benefit from the national scheme for supporting agriculture open this Monday (March 20). The applications will continue to be open until April 11, and farmers will be able to access the e-Albania platform”, reports Albanian RTSH.

Java News -UNHCR: Albanians continue to fulfill the legacy of their fathers for nations in difficulty

“Ten years ago this month, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Antonio Guterres, issued a press release in which he called for urgent assistance for rescuing 2,500 Iranian dissidents who had been previously captured in Iraq during the invasion led by the United States in 2003, writes the creativedestructionmedia.com website.

Of 193 governments in the United Nations, only Albania proposed itself as a solution to this humanitarian crisis”, reports Albanian portal Java News.

COLUMN

Epoka e Re: The Albanians too should have their own Krlezha to encourage democratization of Serbian society

“When a few days ago in Kosovo, the leader of the Republican Party in Serbia, Mr. Nikola Sandulovic in Prekaz bowed before the victims of the Serbian terror and asked for forgiveness for all the atrocities that Belgrade has carried out against the Albanians, it reminded me of the famous Croatian writer Miroslav Krlezha and especially of his essay titled “On the only  flags of our time”, dedicated to Kosta Novakovic (1886-1939), a social democratic publicist and politician, prominent member of the Serbian Social Democratic Party, which acted as an opposition in the Serbian Kingdom.  Novakovic spent several years in prison for opposing Serbian plans for expanding Serbia into the territories of Albania and Macedonia”, an excerpt of the column “The Albanians too should have their own Krlezha to encourage democratization of Serbian society”, by author Mehmet Prishtina, published in the Kosovo media outlet Epoka e Re.
