ECONOMIA ONLINE: KFOR should have taken into consideration the declarations from the institutions, it has an obligation to guarantee free movement
Kosovo security expert Drizan Shala said that the attacks on KFOR soldiers are a clear signal that the situation in the north of Kosovo should be taken more seriously, writes Economia Online.
“In regards to yesterday’s event, for which KFOR itself confirmed that there had been gunshots near their patrols, this de facto presents a situation where the declarations of the institutional leaders of Kosovo should be supported, where an integral part of these barricades are armed people whose aim is to violate and endanger the national security of Kosovo, to make constitutional changes and with this fact, since the day the barricades started, KFOR has come across the declarations made by Kosovo politics and realized that in that part where the Kosovo police cannot expand their authority, it is a consequence of these groups”, says Shala.
INFOCUS – Berisha: Little Putin is playing with peace in the north of Kosovo
“Friends, armed Serbian gangs together with Russian mercenaries from the notorious “Wagner” have been blocking the roads in the north of Kosovo for two weeks now. They are attacking the media and the police of Kosovo, even EULEX, with grenades, and are kidnapping and terrorizing people passing by, both Albanian and Serbian citizens. Everything that is happening is orchestrated by Belgrade, namely, by the Serb Vucic or little Putin, behind who undoubtedly stands the great Putin. The well-known German diplomat, Ischinger, finds the situation that Belgrade has created in the north of Kosovo to be very problematic and has called on the EU to act immediately!”, says the President of the Democratic party (Albania), Sali Berisha in a post on the social networks, reports Infocus.
BOTA PRESS: Most sought-after executive positions in Kosovo for 2022
Chief State Prosecutor, Minister of Health and General Director of the Kosovo Police are three of the high positions that have been “vacant” for some time now as a result of not appointing their new heads, with a full mandate.
The process of their election is being delayed by the relevant institutions, while officially it is still not known who will be the successors to these positions, is said in the Kosovo portal Bota Press.
